ElectriPlast Frequently Asked Questions

How thin can ElectriPlast be molded while still retaining performance?

ElectriPlast has been molded and tested to 1mm while exceeding performance criteria.

Are small quantities of ElectriPlast available for prototyping and testing?

Yes, small quantities are available for purchase and 6″x6″ plates for testing are available at no cost.

Is engineering and design support available through ElectriPlast?

Yes, ElectriPlast has an engineering and design center available to provide project support.

Does ElectriPlast provide molding services?

ElectriPlast, through its affiliate Jasper Rubber, can provide manufacturing and molding services.

Is special equipment required when molding or manufacturing with ElectriPlast?

ElectriPlast can be extruded or injected using standard industry equipment found in factories worldwide without the need for special machinery.

How does the percentage of core fiber affect the cost of ElectriPlast?

ElectriPlast cost is largely fiber dependant; the higher the percentage of fiber content the higher the pellet cost, lower fiber content translates to lower pellet cost.

What base resins can be blended into ElectriPlast composites?

Virtually any combinations of resin and fiber can be blended together to produce a custom ElectriPlast blend utilizing our patented manufacturing process.

Is there any degradation of the Electriplast material over time due to corrosive buildup like you may experience from metals such as copper or aluminum?

No, ElectriPlast is non-corrosive and weather resistant. The need for non-corrosive, weather resistant properties is what led to the development of ElectriPlast.

How would you describe the properties between the various ElectriPlast blends?

The base resin to a large degree, will determine the characteristics and performance of the blended ElectriPlast material. ElectriPlast composites retain the same, or very similar properties, to the base resin.

What core fibers can you blend into ElectriPlast?

We have found nickel plated carbon fiber, stainless steel fiber and copper fiber provides great performance for shielding and conduction applications. However, most any fiber can be used to meet customer performance requirements.

Is ElectriPlast electrically conductive?

Yes, ElectriPlast composites can be blended to meet specific conductance requirements.
